To enhance the cultural and historical experience for visitors in this ancient capital, the Department of Tourism has collaborated with the Information Technology Center of Thua Thien Hue Province (HueCIT) and other relevant units to launch the Hue City Passport application. This initiative aims to assist tourists in utilizing technology to discover the famous tourist destinations in Hue. It is one of the solutions to promote and develop tourism in the region.

During the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, the Director of the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue Province, stated: "The Hue City Passport application makes it easier for tourists in their journey. The travel passport goes beyond being just an information channel; we hope that technology will be a lever to increase interaction with tourists. It serves as both an information channel and a game, a journey to conquer destinations for travelers."
"In the initial phase, we will launch the passport with the first exploration program called 'Heritage and Famous Destinations in Hue,' introducing unique places not to be missed when you want to learn about the architecture and culture of Hue. Not stopping there, in the future, the Hue City Passport will be developed with various programs, promising to open up many new exploration journeys with diverse themes such as cuisine, spirituality, resorts, health tourism, and more," added Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc.

The Travel Passport is implemented in two versions: a paper publication and the Travel Passport app. The app version, "Hue City Passport," offers convenience, GPS location mapping, an aesthetically pleasing interface, and high interactivity with users, enhancing the overall travel experience. The paper version, a pocket-sized travel guide, is designed for easy flipping and selecting personalized itineraries for tourists (expected to be launched in 2024).
