As part of the program for the Seminar Commemorating Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18) and the Workshop on "Science, Technology, and Innovation - A Driving Force for Socio-Economic Development in Thua Thien Hue," held on the afternoon of May 16, the Department of Science and Technology (S&T) officially announced the launch of the Science and Technology Task Management System of Thua Thien Hue Province.

The seminar and workshop aim to disseminate widely the outstanding achievements in science, technology, and innovation; enhance society's awareness of the role of science and technology; inspire a spirit of creative labor and scientific research among all social classes, especially the younger generation, to contribute to building and developing the province's future scientific workforce; discuss and propose tasks and solutions for the development of science, technology, and innovation to create new growth drivers for society, while also enhancing the position of the science and technology sector in research, production, business activities, and contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

In implementing the task of building the Science and Technology Task Management System of Thua Thien Hue province, the Thua Thien Hue Information Technology Center (HueCIT) has conducted research, analysis, construction, and trial operation, as well as received feedback from experts in the fields of information technology and science and technology to improve the system.

The Science and Technology Task Management System consists of two subsystems: the Thua Thien Hue Science and Technology Electronic Information Portal and the Science and Technology Task Management System of Thua Thien Hue province.

The Thua Thien Hue Science and Technology Electronic Information Portal is built to provide a centralized online space and address for science and technology activities in the province. It aims to provide access to the database of science and technology topics, tasks, and proposals, along with comprehensive information on science and technology activities, expert teams, and scientists in various applied fields. Additionally, it serves as a platform for experts and scientists to introduce themselves and their contributions to science and technology activities.

The leadership members performed the ceremonial button pressing to inaugurate the Thua Thien Hue Science and Technology Electronic Information Portal at the event.

The Science and Technology Task Management System of Thua Thien Hue province has been established to support the management of science and technology activities on a digital data platform and management tools based on information technology applications. Through this system, scientific management will be standardized and synchronized in terms of human resources and data, thereby providing leaders of the Department of Science and Technology, scientific management departments, scientists, and related units with necessary information about the timely and accurate implementation of science and technology tasks. Additionally, it will create a database repository of science and technology activities during the implementation of projects and tasks. Through the system, a science and technology task will be implemented and managed in five steps, including: Task list development; Direct selection and assignment; Implementation; Evaluation and acceptance; Registration and publication of results.

The Science and Technology Task Management Software of Thua Thien Hue province officially went into operation after the ceremony.

ACCESS THE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY TASK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF THUA THIEN HUE PROVINCE

The Science and Technology Task Management System of Thua Thien Hue province going into operation is considered a pivotal system in managing S&T data; enhancing the management role of the sector; bringing S&T closer to the people and businesses; contributing to procedural reform and digital transformation of S&T-related activities; thereby, establishing a database of experts, scientists, and S&T tasks in Thua Thien Hue province.

At the program, delegates listened to presentations on: the role of training semiconductor technology human resources in the ICT development strategy of Thua Thien Hue province (by Mr. Nguyen Quang Lich, Head of Department of Engineering and Technology, Hue University); the role of S&T application in the development of key products, OCOP in Thua Thien Hue (by Mr. Le Van Anh, Representative of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development),... Furthermore, the Department of Science and Technology also held a ceremony to launch the Alumni Liaison Committee of former officials and employees in the S&T sector, awarded S&T enterprise certificates, and presented the "For the S&T Cause" commemorative medal by the Minister of Science and Technology to scientists who have made significant contributions to the S&T field.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Hong Thai and Director of the Department of Science and Technology Ho Thang presented the Certificate of Science and Technology Enterprise to two companies: Thua Thien Hue province's Plant and Animal Seed Joint Stock Company and Thanh Binh Science and Technology Limited Liability Company, at the event.

Three outstanding individuals received the Commemorative Medal for their contributions to the field of science and technology.
