This is also one of the annual activities implemented under the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Thua Thien Hue Information Technology Center (HueCIT) and SMC Hue Co., Ltd., aiming to connect and promote the development of the Information Technology Industry in Thua Thien Hue Province.
In his speech at the program, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Permanent Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province, mentioned the province's efforts to successfully implement Resolution No. 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Thua Thien Hue Province until 2030, with a vision to 2045. The focus is on developing Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-run city by 2025, based on the preservation and promotion of the cultural values of the ancient capital and the unique cultural identity of Hue. This includes aspects such as culture, heritage, ecology, landscape, environmental friendliness, and smart initiatives.
The provincial leadership is actively directing the institutionalization of these goals into action programs, resolutions, and projects. This has infused new vitality into the mindset, awareness, and confidence of officials, party members, and all layers of the population in the pursuit of transforming Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-run city.
Over time, Thua Thien Hue has vigorously embraced digital transformation, applying information technology across all its strengths, significantly contributing to the local socio-economic development. However, the application of information technology, when integrated with the exploitation of the province's potential strengths in areas such as culture, tourism, and the environment, is still not meeting expectations. The forum provides an opportunity for experts and researchers, particularly those from South Korea, to share solutions and lessons learned in effectively applying information technology and digital transformation to boost the local economy and society. Deputy Permanent Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed the hope that South Korean enterprises would continue to accompany Thua Thien Hue in various fields, contributing to the local economic and social development, especially in promoting sustainable and green growth in the coming years.

Continuing the collaboration between the Conservation Center of the Imperial City of Hue, SMC Hue Company, and GBIKE Organization, a Smart Mobility Vehicle handover ceremony took place to pilot green transportation within the Hue Imperial City area. GBIKE is a company based in Seoul, South Korea, providing shared personal mobility services and is the owner of the 'GCoo' application, a public electric scooter rental service. Currently, GBIKE operates shared personal mobility services in major cities in South Korea, the United States, and Thailand, with gradual investment in the Vietnamese market.
This initiative likely represents a practical step toward introducing smart and sustainable transportation solutions in the Hue Imperial City, aiming to enhance mobility, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to the overall development of green and intelligent urban ecosystems.
