HueCIT participates Friendship Day event between Vietnam and Laos in 2023

As part of the activities of the Friendship Day program between Vietnam and Laos in 2023, on the morning of November 11th, at the Cultural and Film Center of Thua Thien Hue province (41A Hung Vuong Street, Hue City), an exhibition showcasing and promoting information technology, telecommunications, tourism, and culture products from Vietnam and Laos took place.

The Friendship Day between Vietnam and Laos in 2023 was organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province. This event commemorates the 61st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Laos (1962-2023) and the 46th anniversary of the signing of the Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (1977-2023).

These achievements contribute to strengthening the close and expanding cooperation between Vietnam and Laos across various sectors in the current era of renewal for both nations.

Numerous remarkable activities took place within the framework of the Special Friendship Day between Vietnam and Laos in 2023, held prominently in Hue City

In his welcoming speech at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam shared insights on the enduring friendship between the two nations' people and the significant collaborative achievements between Vietnam and Laos, particularly in the field of information and communication in recent years.

Regarding information exchange, Vietnam regularly facilitates the exchange of delegations at various levels, including information management officials and journalist delegations from both countries. Additionally, there is support for media training for Lao journalists, exchange programs for radio, television, and publication content, and the promotion of cooperation between the media agencies of the two nations to share experiences and provide technical assistance.

In the field of information technology, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam and the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Laos, representing their respective governments, signed a governmental-level cooperation agreement on the digital partnership. This landmark agreement signifies the highest priority and commitment to developing collaborative relationships in digital industry development, digital transformation, digital infrastructure, digital commerce and investment, digital innovation, research and development in the digital sphere, and cybersecurity. It underlines the importance placed on advancing cooperation in the international digital forum.

In the field of telecommunications, this is indeed a shining highlight in the cooperative relationship between the two countries, with significant representatives from Vietnam in Laos being the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) - represented by the Vietnam Military Industry Telecoms Group (Viettel Global) and the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT).

The event is not only a cultural exchange activity between the people of Vietnam and Laos but also serves as a bridge for trade and commerce, promoting the brands and products of Vietnamese enterprises to Laotian businesses. It's an opportunity for the two countries to discuss bilateral cooperation programs to develop digital industry, digital infrastructure, digital commerce, digital economy, digital investment, and especially digital transformation in media and communication.
