Launching the Vietnam Digital Transformation Awards 2024

On April 16, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) and the online magazine VietTimes launched the 7th edition of the Vietnam Digital Awards 2024 (VDA 2024). This prestigious national award aims to honor government agencies, businesses, and outstanding digital transformation initiatives, products, services, and solutions that contribute to the development of the digital government, digital economy, and digital society.

VDA Award is an annual award organized by the Vietnam Digital Media Association (VDMA) under the patronage of the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC). The award was first held in 2018 and aims to honor organizations, agencies, enterprises, career units, and individuals who have made innovative and outstanding contributions to the development or application of digital technology, transforming management, production, and business models to realize Vietnam's digital transformation aspirations. Over six seasons, VDA has reached over 16,000 agencies, organizations, and enterprises in 63 provinces and cities, attracting nearly 1,800 entries; honoring nearly 400 outstanding digital transformation agencies, enterprises, career units, and typical digital transformation products and solutions.

Continuing with five categories, the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award 2024 responds to the theme of the 2024 National Committee for Digital Transformation: "Developing the digital economy with four pillars of the information technology industry, digitizing economic sectors, digital governance, and data number - An important driving force for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development". Specifically:

Category 1: Outstanding Public Sector Digital Transformation

Awarded to party and state agencies, socio-political organizations at all levels that have undergone a strong digital transformation from traditional models to management and work environments based on digital technology platforms.

Category 2: Outstanding Enterprise and Career Unit Digital Transformation

Awarded to enterprises and career units in various fields that have applied digital technology to change management, production, and business models, and have successfully transformed digitally.

Category 3: Typical Digital Transformation Products, Services, and Solutions

Awarded to organizations and individuals working in the field of information technology and communications that own typical digital products, services, and solutions, aiming to solve practical problems and needs in life.

Category 4: Digital Transformation Products and Solutions for the Community

Awarded to organizations established in Vietnam; having legal representation in Vietnam or individuals who are Vietnamese; foreigners with a permanent residence card in Vietnam who own digital technology solutions that bring high efficiency to the disadvantaged, people with low purchasing power, for activities, events, and movements of high social significance and deep humanity.

Category 5: Foreign Products, Services, and Solutions

Awarded to foreign organizations with legal representation in Vietnam or foreign individuals with a permanent residence card in Vietnam operating in the field of information technology and communications, owning typical digital products, services, and solutions, contributing to the construction of the digital government, development of the digital economy and society, and solving urgent practical problems in Vietnam.

HueCIT's Recognition for Digital Transformation Excellence

Hue, Vietnam - May 7, 2024 - On May 2, 2024, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province issued an official notice to promote and inform about the Vietnam Digital Transformation Award 2024 (VDA 2024). The notice assigned the Department of Information and Communications and the Hue Center for Information Technology (HueCIT) to research and register for the VDA 2024, as well as to disseminate and popularize information about the award to encourage local IT businesses to participate.

In recognition of the outstanding digital transformation products submitted from Thua Thien Hue Province each year, the Vietnam Digital Media Association (VDMA) has honored exceptional public sector and career unit digital transformations from Thua Thien Hue Province in recent years. These include:

  • HueCIT with its Document Management and Administration System (2020), Hue-mOffice - Platform for Mobile e-Government (2021), and Typical Digital Technology Product - Business Digital Transformation Support Application (2022).

  • Thua Thien Hue Province Smart City Monitoring and Operation Center (IOC) with its Field Reflection Solution (2019) and Thua Thien Hue Province Shared Digitization Platform (2022).

The VDA 2024 Organizing Committee is accepting online applications from April 16 to June 30, 2024, on the program's website: https://vda.com.vn/. The Preliminary Evaluation Council and the Final Evaluation Council will then review the applications to select the most deserving organizations and products for recognition. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in early October 2024.
