Attending the programs are representatives of departments of Information and Communications, Department of Planning & Investment, Center for Information Technology (IT) in Thua Thien Hue province, IT department of Hue College of Science, Phu Xuan University... and nearly 20 software manufacturing enterprises representing for 50 businesses in Thua Thien Hue province.
The program aims to exchange, communicate a number of mechanisms and policies for the software industry, thereby sharing experiences, aspirations of the businesses in the short-term and long-term goals formulated by the province, towards the development of the software industry for the province of Thua Thien Hue.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son, Deputy Director of Information & Communication preliminary assessed on the status of ICT development in Thua Thien Hue province; gives the statistics of items such as hardware industry, software industry and digital content industry. Also in the report, he gave the opportunities and challenges of infrastructure, human resources and policy mechanisms and so on for ICT development in Hue to discuss at the Conference.
"An arising fact in TT Hue is that the IT workforce from local Colleges and Junior colleges is available, but now the quality is not associated with the quantity when there are very few IT graduated students meeting the requirements of corporate recruitment "- said Mr. Quang Hoang, Head of IT Hue College of Science. Mr. Quang also added, recently the IT Faculty of Hue College of Science has signed a memorandum with FPT software, so that IT students at the Hue College of Science have access to the curriculum of the University of FPT with the syllabus, exam banks and many practical and specific lessons, etc... This minimized the academy in IT education and training lasting for a long time in the college.
During this meeting, the PPC also discussed the draft "Decision rules promulgated a number of policies to support enterprises to engage in IT incubator in Thua Thien Hue province", as well as zoning plan for IT focused areas of Thua Thien Hue and received many comments and supplements. Many business representatives interested in the issues of infrastructure, business strategy and policy mechanisms for development. Mr. Phuong Quang Tran, the General Director of Hue Software and ecommerce JSC - Huesoft said: "Every business has its own strength, it’s necessary to cooperate together to create new opportunities, new advantages as well as to fulfill the ability of the enterprise ".
Orientation in planning the IT focused area of Thua Thien Hue provincce
Noting the comments of the stakeholders, Mr. Tho Ngoc Phan decided to support the enterprises in promoting business information on the Web portal of Thua Thien Hue province. He proposed Hue Center for Information Technology to aggregate IT leading experts and regularly organize talks, exchanges with IT students, helping them with access to the practical and effective IT environment; strength the innovation of Information Technology Association of Thua Thien Hue; Establish the Interim Representative Board of Hue Software Association to meet the growing IT needs of the province in the new era.
